Handing over the keys to your ‘Vette is perhaps one of the most stressful things a person can do, and while you may be handing them to a professional valet, the fact is that it probably 2015-Chevrolet-Corvette-convertible-02brings a sense of anxiety with it that’s on par with giving them over to your teen. Chevy’s got an answer for you, though. The 2015 Corvette has a new Valet Mode that will help ease your worries.

A Baby Monitor for Your Car

Many drivers treat their Corvettes like their babies, and that’s a completely understandable response, so much so that Harlan Charles, the Corvette Product Manager described the in-vehicle Valet Mode as a “baby monitor for your car,” adding, “Anyone who has felt apprehension about handing over their keys will appreciate the peace of mind of knowing exactly what happened while their baby was out of sight.”

With Valet Mode, the driver can lock the glove box as well as the storage bin behind the infotainment system and disable both the infotainment system and the radio. And since each 2015 Corvette comes with the built-in Performance Data Recorder with HD video and microphone, you’ve got a record of everything that happens in valet mode. There’s even a GPS-based recorder that monitors engine RPM, speed, gear position and g-force.

While the Performance Data Recorder was originally designed to give you access to all of the data you could possibly want for your Corvette, including a way to share the video and audio with other auto lovers, Valet Mode is a nice perk that ensures only you’ll be seeing the maximum performance of your ‘Vette. And what power it is.

The V8 under the hood of each of these incredible vehicles is good for 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, launching you from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.
